Tema videoclipului este una sociala, M.I.A. cu trimitere la violentele si discriminarile venite din partea autoritatilor guvernamentale americane, care depasesc adesea cadrul legal. M.I.A. a ales pentru a ilustra clipul un grup de roscati (care din punct de vedere nu sunt o minoritate), tocmai pentru a forta alegoria, si a nu permite banalele comentarii legate de probleme sociale sau rasism.

Born Free e un clip socant si cu un mesaj puternic, sustinut de o melodie pe masura. Putin probabil sa il vedem la TV, acolo unde sunt preferate clipurile mai simplute, daca se poate legate de sex.. si nu cele care dau de gandit.
